Women / Femmes Date sent: Fri, 6 Apr 2001 23:31:03 +0200 From Hakan Sundstrom, WCF Veteran skips meet in the final There will be two veteran skips who will meet in the final of the World women´s championships in Lausanne. Canada´s Colleen Jones skipped the Canadian team as early as 1982 in Geneva and repeated that in St. John in 1999. But both times she failed to enter the semi finals. But now she made it to the final after beating Denmark in the semi final. In the final on Saturday night Canada will play Sweden, skipped by Anette Norberg who led the Swedish team in 1988, -89 and -91. All those years Norberg won bronze medals. Now she has qualified Sweden for her first final of the world after beating Scotland in the semi final with 8-4. |
