Subject: Countdown to 2001 Nokia Brier begins
COUNTDOWN TO 2001 NOKIA BRIER BEGINS
January 24, 2001... The countdown to the first Nokia Brier, March
3-11 at the Ottawa Civic Centre, begins Friday with the
Yukon/Northwest Territories Labatt Tankard, the first of 12
territorial/provincial men's curling championships.
By Sunday, February 11, all of the teams for the 72nd Canadian men's
curling championship will be determined.
During the next three weeks, two Nokia Cups (Ontario and Quebec),
three Safeway Selects (Alberta, British Columbia and Manitoba), six
Labatt Tankards (New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Northern Ontario, Nova
Scotia, Prince Edward Island and Yukon/NWT) and the Saskatchewan Pool
Tankard will take place.
The Canadian Curling Association website (www.curling.ca) will
provide links to the provincial curling association/event websites,
offering current draw results, as well as summaries of each
championship, as the winners are declared.
